We people like to build. We build a career, we build a house, we build a life for ourselves.
Sometimes we even like to build pedestals.
We tend to get enchanted by some people around us, find them amazingly perfect and hurry to place them on these pedestals. We admire their personalities, kindness, strength, success, we might even share the same interests, they’re definitely persons worth admiring. This happens maybe cause at one point or another we all need someone to look up to, some sort of model.
The problem is that we assume we know every dimension of them, when the truth is that most of the time we hurry to make false suppositions based on the little pieces that they reveal to us. And people always let only their good sides to be discovered..Eventually the spell breaks and it’s when we realize that in fact they were not that extraordinary-superhuman as we thought they were. We were only enchanted by our own expectations.
At the end of the day, if you decide to cherish someone, don’t search for heroes elsewhere. Look right beside you. It’s where you’ll find the only person who deserves to be your hero on a pedestal.
